Victoria will host the next Restaurant Talks session, says BCRFA chairperson Bob Parrotta. “If you are trying to grow your restaurant and foodservice business in the Victoria area – this session will offer unique insights and opportunities to strategize future growth AND address issues that are preventing it.”
BC Restaurant Talks are designed to gather industry experts together with operators to tackle challenges head on. As such, our president and CEO Ian Tostenson is at the forefront of the issues – and feels the pressure to stay current with regards to the challenges facing operators today: “Our industry continues to be one of the largest employers in BC – but, in this changing economy, we need to continue to work hard to ensure that operators are successful. We need to stay ahead of issues to make sure operators don’t feel them in their bottom line.”
This month’s topics are Labour and Liquor Policy. Chef Dennis Green, Director of Industry Training, will be presenting go2HR’s latest research on the restaurant and tourism labour market with a focus on restaurant operations. Dennis has more than 20 years’ experience as a Red Seal chef and works with industry daily to optimize growth in our segment through training and skills development.
Doug Scott, General Manager Liquor Licensing & Control. His presentation will focus on two key questions: What liquor policies currently impact your business? How can you make the most of new liquor regulations? His presentation follows extremely successful sessions in Vancouver and Kelowna.
