Ian Tostenson, president and CEO of the BC Restaurant and Foodservice Association is pleased to present the first sessions of Restaurant Talks in Kelowna and Victoria. “We designed BC Restaurant Talks to serve the needs of our operators around the province – and to help them conquer current industry challenges. We are going around the province to connect with operators and understand and tackle the issues that are facing them directly.”
The BC Restaurant Talks sessions in Kelowna and Victoria will include an industry update from go2HR combined with a presentation by Doug Scott, General Manager BC Liquor Licensing & Control. The session will focus on two key questions: What trends currently impact your business? How can you make the most of new and current liquor regulations?
Each session will be targeted to the host region. Sandhill Wines will co-host the event in Kelowna on September 19. Mr. Scott will join us to discuss reform in British Columbia Liquor Policy and talk about how changes specifically impact to Wine Country and our strong local winery scene. His presentation follows an extremely successful session in Vancouver. He will be joined by Ginger Brunner, Regional HR Specialist for go2HR, Thompson Okanagan to present the industry update.
In Victoria, on October 17, operators in the Capital Regional District will gather at Spinnakers GastroPub to get an understanding of the state of the industry and current BC Liquor Policy within the unique island environment.
“We invite restaurant and foodservice professionals to come to explore these sessions prepared with their questions”, says BCRFA chairman Bob Parrotta.
The power sessions will be a jammed packed 1.5 hours with questions and answers a dedicated part of the program. Tickets are on sale this week – $49 for BCRFA members and $79 for non-members. Sessions start at 9 am – with doors opening at 8:45 am. Call to register 604-669-2239.
